An apparatus for illuminating shoes and fashion accessories includes a fiber optic cable, a clasp and a control circuit. The fiber optic cable has a first coupling point and a second coupling point. The clasp has a housing, a retention mechanism, a first connector and a second connector. The first connector is configured to couple to the first coupling point and the second connector is configured to couple to the second coupling point of the fiber optic cable. The control circuit is disposed within the housing and has a power source and at least one illuminating device. The illuminating device is optically coupled to one or both of the first and second connectors in order to illuminate at least a portion of the fiber optic cable with light. At least one of the clasp and the illuminating device is removable to permit interchangeable selectivity of the color of the illuminating light.
An illuminated patch for fixing to apparel, headwear, or the like, is disclosed. The patch comprises a substantially flat decal that has at least one portion that is non-opaque, a front side and a back side. The back side of the decal is fixed to a front side of a substantially flat light-conducting diffuser that also includes a front side. A light conducting element is further included that has at least one end through which light may be introduced. A backing plate is included that has a front side, a back side, and a trough formed on the front side thereof for accommodating the light conducting element therein. The front side of the backing plate is fixed to the back side of the diffuser with the light conducting element captured therebetween. A light source is included for emitting light into the at least one end of the light conducting element. In use, light is emitted along the light conducting element, through the diffuser, and through the at least one non-opaque portion of the decal to illuminate the patch.
Powered Toy Building Structures And Related Devices And Methods
A powered toy budding block includes a printed circuit board, at least a first electrical component mounted to the printed circuit board, at least a first electrical connector mounted to an edge of the printed circuit board and electrically connected to the first electrical component, and a body defining a hollow interior cavity, and at least a first mechanical connector, the printed circuit board and the first electrical component being arranged in the hollow interior cavity with the first electrical connector extending into the first mechanical connector. The first electrical component can be a light emitting diode arranged over an opening in the printed circuit board. The first electrical component can also be a digital audio player, operable to play a digital audio file through a speaker arranged in the body.
A computer-interactive building system includes a plurality of interconnectable blocks, a communications device and a computer. The plurality of interconnectable blocks each have non-transitory memory storing respective block data. The computer executes a software application configured to generate a virtual representation of a physical assembly of at least a portion of the plurality of interconnectable blocks based on the respective block data, and vary at least one attribute of the virtual representation based on a change in the plurality of interconnectable blocks used to make the physical assembly. The communications device is configured for data communication between the at least a portion of the plurality of interconnectable blocks used to the make the physical assembly and the computer.
Mobile Power Supply For Powered Toy Blocks And Related Apparatus
A mobile power station assembly for powered toy blocks includes a battery housing having first and second ends with battery contacts therein, first and second connectors arranged on the first and second ends, and a switch controlling electrical power application from the battery contacts to the first and second connectors. Toy building blocks attached to the first and second connectors can receive electrical power therefrom, and can include side extensions covering opposite sides of the battery housing.
Lamp Adapter Apparatus For Use With Powered Toy Building Blocks
A lamp adapter apparatus includes a socket mount, a first mechanical connector, and an alternating current/direct current (AC/DC) adapter. The socket mount has a mount housing that carries a socket connector. The socket connector is configured to be releasably secured to a bulb receptacle of a lamp and receive AC electrical power from the lamp. The AC/DC adapter is connected between the socket connector and the first mechanical connector and converts the AC electrical power supplied from the lamp into the DC electrical power. A powered toy building block is connectable to the first mechanical connector of the lamp adapter apparatus and thereby receives electrical power from the lamp.
