Abstract:
The composite material multilayered membrane of the present invention is sound insulating and sound-absorbent, acting as sound deadening insulation for noise impacts, mainly but not exclusively to be used in flooring, and in particular under the slab in floating floors, with the aim of reducing the transmission of noise into the below room. This membrane includes several layers, which include at least one polymeric monofilament three dimensional mat, at least one resilient mat, and at least one topping layer of waterproofing, breathable or not, tissue. This multilayered membrane with a thickness under a weight of 2 kPa of at least 8 and maximum 15 mm, preferably 10-12 mm, so as to achieve a normalized noise level in the disturbed room Lnw below 50 dB, or an impact insulation class of at least 60 points.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a floor underlayment cement composition comprising at least about 95% by weight, based on the weight of the composition, of a hydraulic cementitious mixture and at least about 0.03% by weight, based on the weight of the composition, of a superplasticizer. The hydraulic cementitious mixture includes in the range of from about 35% to about 65% by weight, based on the weight of the mixture, of ground, granulated blast furnace slag, and in the range of from about 35% to about 65% by weight, based on the weight of the mixture, of a gypsum component selected from the group consisting of alpha-calcium sulfate hemihydrate, beta-calcium sulfate hemihydrate and mixtures thereof. It is not necessary to include Portland cement or aluminous cement in the hydraulic cementitious mixture. A floor underlayment slurry and a method of forming a high strength floor underlayment on a floor substrate are also provided.
The present disclosure describes a sound attenuating flooring system. The sound attenuating flooring system has a subfloor, a sound attenuating material overlaying and contacting only a portion of the subfloor, and an overlayment. The sound attenuating material has a first surface and second surface. The first surface is defined by a plurality of outwardly projecting hollow protrusions. The second surface is defined by a plurality of open recesses corresponding to the plurality of outwardly projecting hollow protrusions. The overlayment overlays the second surface of the sound attenuating material.
Disclosed is an embed pan suitable for use with railing embed plates. Railing embed plates are commonly attached by bolts to balcony decks as supports for balcony railings. The disclosed embed pan provides a watertight seal around railing embed plate.

Abstract:
A quality assurance system for mixing a slurry comprising at least water or other liquid and at least one flowable wet or dry mass, such as cement, sand or other suitable component, has computerized control over the loading of ingredients and has an accurate and broadly variable speed control of the loading of the ingredients. The mixing chamber has scales that provide a signal indicating the current weight of an ingredient in the mixing chamber. As the desired weight of an ingredient is added to the mixing chamber, the computer slows and then stops the inflow of the current ingredient being loaded via broadly variable control of the loading of the ingredients. The broadly variable control of the loading rate of the ingredients allows more accurate control of the final weight of each ingredient added. Further, a damping period allows system vibrations to dissipate, allowing highly accurate weights to be measured. Accurate records of the addition of each ingredient are maintained using the internal computer that controls the invention. The combination of highly accurate control over the input of materials added to the mixing chamber as well as the maintenance of permanent records concerning each batch of cementitious slum made allows the production of precision batches of final products to meet exacting specifications needed in both ordinary projects and highly specialized projects requiring cementitious products. Data recorded during production operations further allow accurate identification of manpower needs of projects and allow owners/operators at job sites to record, control, predict and manage production costs and manpower needs. All recorded data is transmitted to an offsite location for management to use as needed for quality and management control and can be transmitted at any time or hatch interval desired by management.
