Greenbrier Classic: Jonas Blixt picks up eight birdies to set the pace at White ...
While Points, James Hahn, Jason Bohn, Joe Durant, Patrick Rodgers, Jim Renner and Rotorua's Lee are chasing Blixt hard after carding 65s on Thursday, only one man from the large group tied for second place returned to the clubhouse without signing for a bogey.
Rodgers is looking to make his third straight cut since turning pro. He holed a 118-yard wedge for eagle on the par-4 first hole his 10th hole of the day. Also at 5-under were Chris Kirk, D.A. Points, James Hahn, Jason Bohn, Joe Durant, Jim Renner and Danny Lee.
Seven of the top nine scores came in the morning when the wind was calm. That definitely changed in the afternoon, with only Jim Renner and Danny Lee shooting as low as 65 to finish a stroke behind Blixt.
He was wrong. Jim Renner, who had missed 14 of 19 cuts including the last five and Danny Lee had afternoon-best scores of 65. Six others also had 65, led by James Hahn, Jason Bohn, Joe Durant, Chris Kirk, Patrick Rodgers and D.A. Points.
Patrick Rodgers, who left Stanford last month after his junior season, carded a 5-under 65 on the Old White TPC Course at The Greenbrier. He was joined in second place by Jason Bohn, Jim Renner, Joe Durant, James Hahn, Chris Kirk, Danny Lee and D.A. Points.
