An apparatus is provided for use with a cane to facilitate picking up small objects from the floor. The apparatus, which is removably attachable to a cane, includes an actuator to be pivotally mounted near the handle of the cane, a grasping member pivotally mounted near the tip of the cane, and a cable mechanism, having a tubular sheath, extending along the cane to transmit motion between the actuator and the grasping member.
A multi-container package for articles, such as orange juice in a frozen state, which includes a lid panel separated by divider zones or perforated zones into equispaced lid portions and a container means suspended beneath each lid portion and including sealing means to hold the lid portions to the container means.
An easy-open and reclosable container has a non-circular scored portion on the top lid and an opening and resealing device pivotally fastened on the scored portion for selectably separating it from the top lid to provide an aperture, and selectably resealing the aperture by putting the separated portion back into the aperture and rotating it so as to lock it under the inner surface of the top lid. The opening and resealing device has a compression sealing member for resealing the aperture while the scored portion is locked. As an alternative, the easy-open and reclosable container can utilize an openable and reclosable device which includes a bottom flange member fastened on the top lid having a flange rim extending through an opening on the top lid, a closure member hingedly connected to the rim in part and having a channel complementary in shape with the flange rim, and a tension controlling member hingedly connected to the closure member and separable engaged with a rivet on the top lid for selectably releasing the pulling force on the closure member to allow it to open and selectably re-exerting the pulling force on the closure member to reclose the container. The present invention further provides a triangular cylindrical beverage container which can save storage space.

A disposable, portion controlled container for condiments and other comestibles formed from heat sealable material is disclosed, featuring an easy opening of the container by virtue of a unique fold and heat seal made at one corner of the container during manufacture. An inside reverse fold is made in one corner of the container and a heat seal made along a four thickness layer of this inside reverse fold defines a tear line, stronger than the adjacent material. A tab extended from this four thickness heat seal of the inside reverse fold provides the means for opening the container along the tear line. The size of the opening in the container is controlled by the initial width of material used to form the inside reverse fold.
A device for viewing a motion picture film strip held within a cassette includes a film strip drive wheel, turned at a constant speed by a battery-powered motor, having an outer cylindrical surface from which a pin section extends radially. The film strip is held, by guiding surfaces in the cassette, so that it extends in an arc around a portion of the outer cylindrical surface. The pin section engages a sprocket hole in the film strip at the beginning of this arc, and is disengaged from the sprocket hole at the end of this arc. During continued revolution of the drive wheel, the film is held in place as a single frame is viewed through the lens. The lens is focussed by sliding a tab extending from the lens housing within an oblique slot in a cover of the viewing device, as the lens is both rotated about its optical axis and translated along its optical axis.
