Since joiningShelter Mortgage in 1994, James has been the Company's top loan officer in Georgia each year helping over 3,000 families finance their homes. Out of over 180 loan officers nationwide affiliated withShelter Mortgage, James has ranked as the #1 loan officer nationally for the last five years. Shelter Mortgage was known as Fairfield Mortgage locally in Georgia until January 2013 when the sale of Shelter forced Fairfield to adopt it's parent company's name. James was born in Greenville, SC and received both his BBA and MBA from the University of Georgia. After graduating from Georgia in 1991, James entered the mortgage business as a loan officer in Atlanta with BancBoston Mortgage Corporation. James was BancBoston's Rookie of the Year in 1992 and has received the Mortgage Bankers Association of Georgia's Gold Award for Excellence every year since 1994 and ranked as one of MBAG's Top 10 Loan Officers in Georgia each of the last five years. James met his wife, Wendi, in high school and they were married in 1992. After graduating from Clemson University and enjoying a successful career in marketing research, Wendi's latest challenge has been chasing around their four kids. Jake, Jamie, and Drew are triplets born in 1997 and Rachel is their younger sister born in 2005. James spends most of his free time coaching High School soccer and football at Fellowship Christian School in Roswell, GA. He also gets out on the golf course when he can and loves attending University of Georgia football games. James attends Passion City Church and is also involved with local non-profit organizations Camp Highland and Lighthouse Family Retreat.
