FIELDS OF COMPETENCE: Planning and Site Design: Development of conceptual and preliminary designs as well as consultation, representation, and permitting for residential and commercial sites, including rezones, special permits, and planned developments. EXPERIENCE SUMMARY: Mr. Rigo has over 23 years of civil engineering design and urban planning experience. Since November 2010, he has worked as a contract consulting planner in the Tampa Bay/Sarasota, Florida area providing community organization/representation and site design services to local homeowner association boards, as well as design services to private consulting firms. For over 9 years he served as Senior Planner at LF&K, Inc., in Palmetto, Florida, which followed a 12 year position as an engineering technician and associate planner at LDC, Inc., in Mentor, Ohio. Mr. Rigo graduated from the University of Toledo in 1989 where he earned a Bachelors degree in Geography and Urban Planning. His extensive background in planning, urban design, architecture, and civil engineering lends technical, as well as creative involvement throughout the development process. He specializes in the areas of land development entitlement due diligence, site specific commercial, industrial, and residential planning, and subdivision/planned development design. Project management responsibilities have included company marketing, production and management of project budgets, feasibility/impact studies, permit preparation, client liaison to various approval agencies, presentations to planning and zoning commissions, plan review, and general land planning consultation to both private and public entities. He has authored land development/subdivision regulations in various unincorporated areas and has assisted developers and governmental agencies in rural areas with conservation development techniques and the design of traditional and experimental on-site sewage treatment facilities. He is a member of the American Planning Association and the Florida Planning and Zoning Association.
