Abstract:

The present invention presents TIRKS DLRs over a extranet web interface to a user. The DLRs are presented via secure access to the TIRKS system via an intranet. The Web DLR Delivery (WDD) project consists of the DLR facilities of TIRKS, a midrange-hosted application for gathering DLR information and responding to report requests, a data base for storing the DLR and user information, and a secured external (Extranet) web site. WDD automates the DLR delivery process, providing customer service and cost savings to the company. Abstract:

A vehicle seat assembly for a motor vehicle is provided. The assembly includes a cushion section a back section pivotally interconnected. The assembly also includes a wheeled latch assembly that is connected to the cushion section. The wheeled latch assembly includes a seat member and a latch member pivotally interconnected and is urged in one direction by a coil spring. The latch member includes a recess for accepting a striker on the vehicle floor and a projection terminating in a roller. The roller is adopted to aid in transporting the vehicle seat while the seat is removed from the vehicle and is accepted into a U-shaped formation while in the vehicle. The wheeled latch also includes a clasp that can be used to entrap the striker of the vehicle floor within the recess of the latch member. By use of the wheeled latch, a latch assembly at the rear portion of the cushion section and a latch assembly on the back section, the vehicle seat can assume a number of positions: (1) a seating position; (2) a folded position; (3) a tumbled position; and (4) a removed position, whereby the entire vehicle seat is removed from the vehicle.

Abstract:

A rotation sensor having a vibrating cantilever beam is disclosed herein. The sensor comprises an integral single crystal silicon cantilever beam and support structure, an oscillator circuit for generating an electrical signal vibrating the cantilever beam at or near its natural resonant frequency and a piezoresistive element formed at the base of the base of the vibrating beam. The piezoresistive element is only sensitive to the stresses induced in the beam due to the rotation of the beam about an axis parallel to its length.

Abstract:

A vehicle frame having a side/cross member joint, including a pair of side members each having at least one opening therethrough, the openings having a plurality of generally straight edge portions. A cross member is connected to the side members, wherein the one cross member is disposed in the openings in the side members. The cross member is deformed radially outwardly such that an outer surface of the cross member is formed with a pair of grooves having radially extending walls on opposite sides of each of the openings in the side member. A plurality of flat and semi-circular portions are formed in the cross member corresponding with the straight edge portions and the semi-circular edge portions of the openings.

Abstract:

An improved dual mode display optimized for image contrast in both the active and passive modes is described herein. The dual mode display comprises two tandemly disposed light valves in which a semi-transparent reflective surface disposed behind the first light valve display reflects incident light in the passive mode and transmits light from a back illuminating light source in the active mode. The optical density of the electro-responsive material in the first light valve is selected to optimize the image contrast of the image formed by reflected incident light and the optical density of the electro-responsive material of the second light valve cooperates with the electro-responsive material of the first light valve to optimize the contrast of the transmitted image in the active mode of operation.
