  • Abstract:
    An adapter is for mounting an electrical switching apparatus, such as a circuit breaker, on the back panel of an enclosure, such as a switchgear cabinet. The back panel has at least one aperture. The adapter includes a first end portion coupled at or about the aperture of the back panel, an engaging portion engaging and securing the circuit breaker to the adapter, a fastener, and a second end portion disposed distal from the first end portion and including an elongated slot. The elongated slot receives the fastener in order to couple the adapter to the back panel when the fastener is fastened, while enabling adjustment of the adapter and the circuit breaker coupled thereto, with respect to the back panel, when the fastener is unfastened. The first end portion, the engaging portion and the second end portion form a single piece adapter. An enclosure assembly is also disclosed.

    An interior assembly for a load center includes a base member disposed at or about a panel member of the load center housing, a first bus bar assembly disposed on the base member, and a first insulating member overlaying the first bus bar assembly and being coupled to the base member. A first portion of the first insulating member receives circuit breakers of the load center, and a second portion receives a second bus bar assembly. A second insulating member overlays the second bus bar assembly and is coupled to the second portion of the first insulating member. A neutral bus bar is coupled to the second insulating member. A fastening mechanism fastens the interior assembly to the panel member. The base member, first and second bus bar assemblies, first and second insulating members, and neutral bus bar are secured together without the use of separate fasteners.

    A base assembly is provided for a meter socket assembly of a meter center including an enclosure having a panel member. The meter socket assembly includes a meter. The base assembly includes a base member having a first side coupled to the panel member, a second side disposed opposite and distal from the first side, and first and second ends. Meter jaws are disposed on the second side of the base member and receive the meter. Electrical bus members are coupled to the base member at or about the first side thereof, and are electrically connected to at least one of the meter jaws at or about the second side thereof. The electrical bus members are coupled to and supported by the base member of the base assembly, without the use of a number of separate fasteners. A meter socket assembly and meter center are also disclosed.

    A meter socket assembly includes a base member, a meter and at least one electrical bus member. The base member is coupled to the panel member of a meter center and includes first and second ends, a first side having protrusions, and a second side including meter jaws for receiving the meter. Each electrical bus member includes a first end extending outwardly from the first end of the base member, a second end distal from the first end and electrically connected to at least one of the meter jaws, and a plurality of bends between the first and second ends to define a first portion disposed at or about the first end, a second portion disposed at or about the second end, and an intermediate portion extending therebetween. Recesses on the intermediate portion engage the protrusions of the base member to couple the electrical bus member to the base member.

    A renovation load center includes an enclosure, a branch circuit assembly mounted in the enclosure, and two renovation terminal blocks having a side and a plurality of first terminations electrically connected to at least some of the incoming lines and the branch conductors of a distribution system. Each renovation terminal block includes a plurality of second terminations. Each of the first terminations is electrically connected to a corresponding one of the second terminations. Each pair of one of the first terminations and the corresponding one of the second terminations is disposed on the same side of the renovation terminal block and is electrically isolated from at least one adjacent pair of another one of the first terminations and a corresponding one of the second terminations. A plurality of cables are electrically connected between the second terminations and the branch circuit assembly.

    An enclosed metering and protective electrical apparatus includes an enclosure, a meter socket within the enclosure structured to input a power circuit and to engage a power meter, and a circuit interrupter within the enclosure including an operating handle and a trip mechanism. The circuit interrupter is structured to output the power circuit from the meter socket to a load and to interrupt the power circuit. A neutral current sensor within the enclosure is structured to detect a ground fault operatively associated with the power circuit and responsively cause the trip mechanism of the circuit interrupter to interrupt the power circuit. A disconnect handle substantially external to the enclosure includes linkage extending within the enclosure and cooperating with the operating handle of the circuit interrupter to open and close the circuit interrupter.
