Abstract:

A system for removing paint and other coatings from hard surfaces is mounted on a truck for over-the-road travel. The truck bed carries a high power vacuum pump, a self propelled tractor with an attached blast head, a liquid reservoir, a sump or vacuum tank, and a ramp for loading the tractor. The reservoir is connected to a low pressure pump that transfers water to the high pressure pump. The high pressure pump is connected to the blast head by a high pressure hose. A vacuum hose is connected to the sump which has an internal enclosure for separating the waste materials from the liquid for easy dumping of semi dried materials.

Abstract:

A self-propelled mobile marking removal system which comprises a mobile vehicle assembly including a chassis, a high pressure liquid pump in fluid connection with a liquid reservoir contained within said chassis, said high pressure liquid pump is further in fluid connection with a blast head, said blast head having at least one high pressure nozzle for delivering liquid at high pressure to a marked surface, a waste removal hose fluidly coupled with said blast head and a sump for collection of liquid and debris, said blast head positionable along a left or a right side of said chassis, a mechanical abrasion means, said mechanical abrasion means positionable along a left or a right side of said chassis in front of said blast head, said mechanical abrasion means is constructed and arranged to substantially remove marking material protruding above said marked surface and said blast head constructed and arranged to substantially remove any marking material extending below said marked surface. As a result of this arrangement the self-propelled vehicle can travel at speeds up to approximately 25 MPH.

Abstract:

Disclosed is a cleaning system for removing coatings from a hard surface by high pressure liquid. The system employs a combination liquid and vacuum reservoir connected to a high pressure pump for directing ultra high pressure water through a blast head mounted on a front portion of the vehicle. The cleaning system is preferably mounted on a single truck with a single prime mover. The drive-line of the vehicle is constructed and arranged to operate in two distinct modes, e. g. a transport mode and a work mode. In the transport mode, a first transmission coupled to the rear portion of the prime mover delivers torque from the engine to the rear wheels of the vehicle. In the work mode, the prime mover is utilized to mechanically drive the bed mounted equipment as well as provide motive force in the form of mechanical-hydrostatic transmission to propel the system at a speed suitable for marking removal.

Abstract:

The present invention relates generally to an environmentally sensitive mobile cleaning system, and more specifically relates to a closed loop water recirculation system for high or ultra-high pressure mobile cleaning apparatus. The system includes a water tank sized to contain an established volume of fluid sufficient to circulate through the system, a pump to pressure the fluid to a cleaning head, a vacuum system to return the contaminated fluid to the system, and a filter means to remove the contaminants from the fluid so that clean fluid can be reintroduced to the cleaning head. The method comprises the steps of increasing the pressure of a fixed volume of fluid in a closed-loop system, jetting or blasting the surface with the pressurized fluid, vacuuming the blasted fluid into the system, and removing the contaminants from the fluid.

Abstract:

A transportable holding tank for containing clean water and for accepting waste from a stripe removal system. The holding tank is carried on a flatbed vehicle and requires less deck space, thus effectively increasing the cargo-carrying capacity of the vehicle compared with that available if the vehicle were carrying a conventional round or elliptical holding tank. Construction of the tank enables the holding tank to withstand a partial vacuum imposed for pumping waste into the tank. Hooks secured inside of the tank permit a bag for separating solid waste from liquid waste for easy disposal of semi dried materials.

Briefly, disclosed is an articulable arm particularly suited for mobile systems utilized to remove coatings from marked surfaces with high pressure liquid. The mobile systems generally employ a liquid reservoir connected to a high pressure pump for directing ultra high pressure water through at least one blast head mounted on a front portion of a mobile self-propelled vehicle. Abstract:

Briefly, disclosed is a stripe removal or cleaning system for removing coatings or markings from hard surfaces, such as roadways, by high pressure liquid. The system employs a liquid reservoir connected to a high pressure fluid pump for directing ultra high pressure water through a blast head to remove the coatings or markings. The blast head is mounted on a vehicle. Water and debris removed from the surfaces are delivered to a vacuum tank where the debris is separated from the water. The vacuum is maintained in the vacuum tank by a high power vacuum pump. The entire removal or cleaning system is mounted on a skid, thus enabling it to be transported to any location and used on vehicles which do not have to be dedicated to stripe removal or surface cleaning.
