As President and VP I established the successful Economics Week semiannual event, as well as a professional career network •In May of 2005 I was selected co-leader to lead a service trip to visit distressed communities in Santiago, Dominican Republic and discuss the socio-economic conflicts of fair trade vs free trade coffee production •In 2006 I was one of the selected speakers and panelists for annual Bellarmine Forum to talk about my experiences doing social justice work in the Dominican Republic •In March of 2006 I was selected again to co-lead a group to Mexico City; Tianguistengo; Chapula, Mexico to facilitate a community mural project in an impoverished rural village •In 2005 I was one of two selected from Economics Society to present my research project titled “Remittances and Growth in Latin America & Caribbean Countries” at the 13th Annual Southern California Conference on Underground Research hosted by UCR
