  • Assignee:
    Robert Bosch GmbH - Stuttgart
  • International Classification:
    G01L 700
  • US Classification:
    73714
  • Abstract:
The invention is directed to a method and an arrangement for operating a fuel supply system ( ) and especially a fuel supply system of an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle. Fuel is pumped into an accumulator ( ) with the aid of pumps ( ) and the fuel is adjusted at least to a first pressure (P ) or a second pressure (P ). Initially, the first pressure (P ) is adjusted and a pressure signal (PS ) is detected and, thereafter, the second pressure (P ) is adjusted and a pressure signal (PS ) is detected. A pressure difference (P) is formed from the detected first and second pressure signals (PS , PS ). If the pressure difference P deviates from an expected pressure difference (P_E) by more than a threshold value (S), then a fault in the fuel supply system ( ) is detected and stored.

  • US Classification:
    123510, 123514
  • Abstract:
A fuel supply system for supplying an internal combustion engine has a consumption-controlled fuel feeding module which at a suction side is connected with a supply tank and at the pressure side is connected with an internal combustion engine. At pressure side of the fuel feeding module a return conduit is leads to at least one pump for filling of the fuel feeding aggregate. A preliminarily supplied return is blockable by a switchable adjusting member which adjusts the return quantity with an open switchable adjusting member by means of a throttle element in all operational conditions above a minimal pump consumption.

  • Assignee:
    Robert Bosch GmbH - Stuttgart
  • International Classification:
    F02M 3704
  • US Classification:
    123198D, 123497
  • Abstract:
Method for operating a fuel supply system of an internal combustion engine, especially of a motor vehicle, wherein fuel is pumped into a storage space ( ) with the aid of a pump ( ) and a pressure is generated in the storage space ( ). In the system, an actual value of the pressure is measured with the aid of a pressure sensor ( ) and the pressure in the storage space ( ) is controlled (open loop and/or closed loop) to a desired value. A fault in the fuel supply system ( ) is detected via a plausibility control. When a fault in the fuel supply system ( ) is detected, a diagnostic cycle of the internal combustion engine is initiated. Diagnostic functions are activated which check individual components ( ) of the fuel supply system ( ) as to operability.
