  • US Classification:
    424736, 424725, 424760, 424776
  • Abstract:
This invention relates to compositions comprising a polymer base incorporating antifouling compositions suitable for use in aquaculture, marine and architectural systems as paints, structures or coatings. In particular, the present invention relates to a polymer based coating incorporating a biocidal antifouling composition suitable for use with aquaculture equipment. The present invention provides polyethylene compositions and latex compounds which may comprise at least one environmentally benign phytochemicals suitable for use in preventing the colonization of a treated surface by a variety of biological species. The compositions of the invention may further comprise control release agents such as, for example, micro-encapsulation of the phytochemicals to maintain sustained and prolonged release of the biocidal agents at the treated surface.

  • Medical Glove And Method

    view source
  • US Patent:
    40707130, Jan 31, 1978
  • Filed:
    Mar 17, 1976
  • Appl. No.:
    5/667790
  • Inventors:
Glenn Francis Stockum - Arlington TX
  • Assignee:
    Arbrook, Inc. - Arlington TX
  • International Classification:
    A41D 1900
  • US Classification:
    2168
  • Abstract:
A medical glove adapted to tightly conform to a wearer's skin and to be donned without the use of additional lubricants is formed with an outer layer of elastomeric material, an inner layer of elastomeric material bonded to the outer layer and particulate matter securely embedded in and randomly distributed throughout the inner layer. The particulate matter is preferably partially exposed on the inner, skin-contacting surface of the inner layer so that it extends inwardly beyond the surface of the inner layer to provide a lubricating means to facilitate donning of the glove without the use of additional lubricants. A method for making the unique medical glove is also disclosed.
  • Method For Making Lubricous Gloves

    view source
  • US Patent:
    62806734, Aug 28, 2001
  • Filed:
    Mar 31, 1995
  • Appl. No.:
    8/414259
  • Inventors:
    Richard Green - Livingston NJ
Glenn F. Stockum - Arlington TX
    Mao-Ching Chen - Arlington TX
  • Assignee:
Depuy Orthopaedics, Inc. - New Brunswick NJ
  • International Classification:
    B29C 4114
    B29C 4122
  • US Classification:
    264255
  • Abstract:
A modified elastomeric glove is disclosed having a lubricous coating made up of polyvinyl alcohol and a thickening agent. The thickening agent is initially added in order to increase the processability of the polyvinyl alcohol coating in order to prevent runbacks and drips during the manufacturing process. A hydroscopic thickener may be used. The polyvinyl alcohol coating becomes lubricous when wetted in a water bath and therefore becomes particularly useful in applying a water-activated resin casting material for forming orthopaedic casting bandages.
  • Form For Making A Glove

    view source
  • US Patent:
    41358678, Jan 23, 1979
  • Filed:
    Apr 13, 1977
  • Appl. No.:
    5/787239
  • Inventors:
Glenn F. Stockum - Arlington TX
  • Assignee:
    Arbrook, Inc. - Arlington TX
  • International Classification:
    B29C 1300
  • US Classification:
    425275
  • Abstract:
A uniquely contoured glove adapted to tightly conform to a wearer's hand is made by depositing an elastomeric material on a relatively flat glove form having recessed areas covering substantially the entire surface of the hand-forming and finger-forming portions of the form except for a peripheral edge surrounding the recessed areas. The resulting glove, when stripped from the form and reversed, has a hand portion, an open end cuff portion and a plurality of elongated finger-receiving compartments, each of said compartments and said hand portion having a transverse cross-sectional configuration formed by four outwardly curved sections connected by four inwardly curved sections.

  • US Patent:
    41431090, Mar 6, 1979
  • Filed:
    Oct 19, 1977
  • Appl. No.:
    5/843605
  • Inventors:
Glenn F. Stockum - Arlington TX
  • Assignee:
    Arbrook, Inc. - Arlington TX
  • International Classification:
    B29H 3042
  • US Classification:
    264112
  • Abstract:
The method of making a medical glove adapted to tightly conform to a wearer's skin and to be donned without the use of additional lubricants comprises the steps of applying a first layer of elastomeric material onto a glove form having the general contour of a human hand; applying a second layer over the first layer; the second layer being a particulate suspension comprising an elastomeric material having particulate matter randomly distributed therethrough; the particulate matter having a size greater than the thickness of the second layer of elastomeric material; curing the layers so that the first and second layers are permanently bonded together and the particulate matter is securely embedded within the second layer with portions thereof extending outwardly beyond the surface of the elastomeric material; removing the glove from the form; and reversing the glove to position the particulate matter on the inner, skin-contacting surface thereof.
