  • Battery Charger With Sequential Charging.

    view source
  • US Patent:
    20030020433, Jan 30, 2003
  • Filed:
    Jul 26, 2001
  • Appl. No.:
    09/916376
  • Inventors:
George Knish - Mead CO, US
David Werner - Boulder CO, US
  • International Classification:
    H02J007/00
  • US Classification:
    320/116000
  • Abstract:
The battery charging process monitors the battery charging pockets waiting for an indication that a battery or a phone-battery combination has been inserted into their respective pockets. The first battery that is inserted is the high priority battery and is charged first while any subsequent battery inserted into a charging pocket has no power applied until the high priority battery is charged. If the phone enters a call while in the charger, it becomes the high priority battery if it was not already. In this case, power is removed from the individual battery and applied to the phone-battery combination until the call has been completed. At this point, the process returns the high priority status to the battery that had it prior to the call interrupt.

    H04W 48/04
    H04W 4/40
    H04W 72/08
  • Abstract:
A system and method of selecting a modem for cellular communications while the vehicle is in a primary propulsion off state. The method includes: detecting a transition from a primary propulsion on state to a primary propulsion off state of the vehicle; after detecting the transition from the primary propulsion on state to the primary propulsion off state, measuring one or more cellular connectivity parameters for a plurality of modems included in the vehicle; based on the cellular connectivity parameter(s), selecting a modem of the plurality of modems; after selecting the modem of the plurality of modems, then turning off non-selected modem(s) of the plurality of modems, wherein the non-selected modem(s) include the plurality of modems other than the selected modem; and sending a selected modem indication to a remote server, wherein the selected modem indication indicates to the remote server to use the selected modem when sending messages to the vehicle.
