Abstract:

Systems and methods for communicating presentation materials from a presenter to audience members utilizing a number of USB port based devices. The presenter's USB device includes application plug-in software that loads to the presenter's computer and operates in conjunction with a standard application software product (such as PowerPoint or Keynote). As the application software runs, the presentation data from the presenter's computer is directed through the presenter's USB device (utilizing a radio frequency (RF) transceiver) to broadcast the presentation data to the audience members. The audience members have each been provided a USB device that includes an RF transceiver for receiving the transmissions from the presenter's USB device. The presentation data would then be communicated into the audience members' computer systems to be run in association with the resident application and plug-in software present. Other materials as might typically take the form of printed documents may likewise be distributed to the audience members. Optional plug-in software components, such as audience feedback and/or voting components, may be integrated into the application plug-in software associated with the USB devices.

Abstract:

A device attachable to a beverage container such as a bottle or can that serves to increase the rate at which a beverage contained within the bottle or can is chilled from room temperature to a cooler temperature suitable for consumption. The device is a semi-rigid disc having a serrated edge that facilitates gripping of the device. One side of the disc includes two structures designed to receive and retain the top portion of alternately either a beverage bottle or a beverage can. A circular depression receives and retains a bottle top structure while a concentric circular wall receives and retains the disc on the top of a beverage can. Once the disc is placed on top of the beverage bottle or can, the assembly may be immersed in an ice bath and rotated, or spun, using the serrated edge of the disc as a means for imparting the spinning motion. In addition, a finger recess or aperture may be positioned on a top surface of the disc to further facilitate the manner of imparting a spinning motion to the disc. Surfaces on the disc, especially an upper surface, may be used for the placement of advertising or promotional indicia.

A coin bowling amusement game is provided having target pins shaped in the form of bowling pins along with a pivotal coin chute, sweeper arm and display operated by a computer program in which coins are inserted into the coin chute and rolled down an enclosed platform to the target pins which, when struck, activates a display means for audibly or visually displaying a strike which then dispenses prizes and/or tickets redeemable for prizes or activates the sweeper arm after a predetermined number of misses are tallied by the computer controlled coin bowling game. Abstract:

A lock-down bar release system for a pinball machine serviceable in a location-service mode and an operator-service mode. The pinball machine includes a playfield disposed within a game cabinet and a lock-down bar for securing a playfield glass over the playfield and onto the game cabinet. A handle mechanism and associated latching structure is operable to release the lock-down bar. In the location-service mode, the movement of the handle and release of the lock-down bar is effected automatically by using a location-service key. In the operator-service mode, the operator uses an operator-service key to access the interior of the game cabinet through a coin door from wherein the operator may physically pull the handle to release the lock-down bar. The pinball machine includes a restraint mechanism for inhibiting removal of the playfield (and thereby preventing access to the coin box or cash box under the playfield) in the location-service mode. The restraint mechanism moves to a non-blocking position when the coin door is opened in the operator-service mode so as to permit removal of the playfield in the operator-service mode.
