Abstract:
A flexible cover for protecting a splice of a conveyor belt, in particular, for protecting the belt fastener that forms the splice. The splice cover includes a body having a first surface and an opposite second surface, with a plurality of first reclosable fasteners extending from the first surface. The first reclosable fasteners engage with a plurality of second reclosable fasteners, which are attached to the belt. The second reclosable fasteners can be secured to the belt by the belt fastener, by adhesive or other attachment means, by being integral with the belt fastener, or by being integral with the belt web. The second reclosable fastener can be any structure that engages, interlocks, mates, or otherwise attaches to first reclosable fastener. Also provided are methods for making the splice cover, and methods for placing and removing the splice cover over the belt fastener.

Abstract:
Automobile panel repair laminates include a pressure sensitive adhesive bonded to a support backing. The support backing may be constructed of various materials such as plastically deformable polymeric materials including thermoplastic or thermoset materials and may have various thicknesses depending upon the desired conformability and rigidity necessary for the repair. The support backing may be bonded to the pressure sensitive adhesive by applying adhesion promoters such as solvents. The repair laminate is applied to a back or non-aesthetic side of the automobile panel, and the front side is repaired using standard techniques for filling and finishing.

Abstract:
Provided are a flexible pressure vessel, methods of making and using, and kits comprising the flexible pressure vessel. The flexible pressure vessel comprises a first and second layer, each comprising a flexible, liquid impervious material having a plurality of edges. A first edge of the first layer is bonded to a first edge of the second layer by a fold-over seal, and a second edge of the first layer is bonded to a second edge of the second layer with a fold-over seal.

Abstract:
The present application is directed to a method of manufacturing an adhesive article. The method comprises providing a first extrudable feedstock comprising a pressure sensitive adhesive and providing a second extrudable feedstock comprising a polyolefin polymer having a density of no greater than 0.91 g/cc. The first extrudable feedstock and the second extrudable feedstock are coextruded in contact with each other to form a coextruded film. The method also comprises cooling the coextruded film.
A positive displacement pump for metering liquid chemicals and applying such chemicals into grains such as seed being conveyed through a screw conveyor, the pump including a reciprocating rod operated by an eccentric cam on the screw conveyor shaft, the pump rod having a shoulder and a stop carried by the housing to limit the length of movement of the rod, the stop being a rotary cam having flat surfaces, of varied distances from the cam axis and controlled by a hand operated knob.

Abstract:
A pad assembly comprising a multiplicity of flexible sheets each having a band of repositionable pressure sensitive adhesive coated on its rear surface adjacent and spaced by a small predetermined spacing from a first edge. The sheets are disposed in a stack with the band of repositionable pressure sensitive adhesive on each sheet adhering it to the adjacent sheet in the stack; and a layer of padding compound is disposed over and adhered to aligned first edges of the sheets in the stack. The padding compound allows, after the band of repositionable pressure sensitive adhesive on the rear surface of one of the sheets in the stack is separated from the front surface of the adjacent sheet in the stack, that one sheet (and any sheets above it) to be pivoted away from that adjacent sheet while remaining adhered to the adjacent sheets. The small predetermined spacing between the band of repositionable pressure sensitive adhesive and the first edge of each sheet provides a tactile feel when the band of repositionable pressure sensitive adhesive on the rear surface of one of the sheets in the stack separates from the front surface of the adjacent sheet in the stack that signals the person peeling the sheet away that such separation has occurred, and allows that person to reduce the force he is applying to the sheet, thereby restricting inadvertent separation of that sheet from the padding compound. After a sheet is intentionally separated from the padding compound, the band of repositionable pressure sensitive adhesive on the sheet affords adhesion of that sheet to a vertical surface.

Abstract:
A crosscut sampler particularly useful for obtaining samples of flowing granular or particulate material in a pneumatic conveying system including a sample collecting head in a housing connected with the material conveying pipes, the head having a slot-shaped opening extending transversely across the flow passage of granular materials, there being a closure to seal the head and prevent entrance of materials between sampling cycles, the closure for the entrance to the head including a valve element within the head interior and movable into and out of obstructing relation with the entrance to the head, and an air cylinder on the head to operate the closure, the head being mounted on a slide for movement in the housing across the flow passage of flowing materials, and a collecting container to receive the samples from the head.

Abstract:
A method for maintaining a plurality of wood veneer substrates in fixed relation to each other that includes positioning a plurality of wood veneer substrates in relation to each other, and applying a tape to the substrates to maintain the substrates in fixed relation to each other. The tape is capable of maintaining wood veneer substrates in fixed relation to each other before and during a lamination process in which the substrates are laminated to an underlying base, and is cleanly removable from the substrates following the lamination process.
