Abstract:
The sugar mannose has been used to maintain urinary tract health in the face of infections. An optimal dose is disclosed to be of one teaspoon (two grams) three times a day for one to two weeks or until symptoms subside. The maintenance dosage for prophalaxis is one-half teaspoon (1 gram) 1 to two times per day. Children's dosages are cut in half. For women who experience UTIs after sexual relations, one teaspoon is taken an hour prior to intimate relations and an additional one teaspoon immediately afterwards. It is further disclosed to use any of an extract of , white willow bark, and pollen extract in conjunction with the mannose to provide further effect.

US Classification:

Abstract:
A method for determining a relative clay content of at least a portion of a well core taken from a subterranean geologic formation by: determining the relationship of the clay content of the well core portion to the dielectric constant of the well core portion at a selected frequency at relatively few locations over a substantial length of the well core portion by measuring the clay content by a clay determination test such as x-ray diffraction, thin section analysis, sieve analysis or laser particle analysis and the dielectric constant at the locations; and, measuring the dielectric constant of the well core portion at a large plurality of spaced apart other locations on the well core portion at the selected frequency; translating the large plurality of dielectric measurements according to the relationship into relative clay content measurements. The dielectric constant is representative of the water constant of the well core portion, which is related to the clay content of the well core portion.

Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a three-dimensional fiber-reinforced part utilizing the single-tool method of stereolithography. The tool is fabricated by designing the tool on a computer-aided design system and curing successive layers of a fluid medium via a computer-controlled irradiation source to form the three-dimensional tool. The desired part is generated by applying layers of resin-wetted fabric to the tool, curing the fabric on the tool, removing the tool from the designed part and cleaning, trimming and inspecting the designed part.

Acoustic Measurements In Rock Formations For Determining Fracture Orientation
A method and system for determining the probable direction of extension of a hydraulically induced fracture in a hydrocarbon bearing formation wherein prior to inducing the fracture, the formation region to be fractured is heated and thermally induced acoustic emissions from the formation are sensed to determine the orientation of the maximum and minimum horizontally directed in situ compressive stresses based on the acoustic emission rate and/or intensity. A device including a microwave energy generator and an array of acoustic transducers is lowered into a wellbore to generate and measure the thermally induced acoustic emissions.
Flexible Reinforced Rubber Part Manufacturing Process Utilizing Stereolithography Tooling

Abstract:
A single-tool manufacturing process utilizing a stereolithographic tool for fabricating flexible reinforced rubber parts. The stereolithographic tool is fabricated using a laser and computer-controlled optical scanning system. Then fabric and resin are manually applied to the tool. The stereolithographic tool is utilized like a mold, with successive layers of fabric and resin applied thereto. After curing, the mold is shattered and removed from the designed part.
