In an information system, for I/O migration, the migration management module detects a first I/O function associated with a first I/O device to which the OS is connected, selects a second I/O function associated with a second I/O device which is the same type of the first I/O device, and instructs to hot-add the second I/O function to the OS. And the OS sets a teaming for a first virtual MAC address of a first virtual NIC corresponding to the first I/O function and a second virtual MAC address of a second virtual NIC corresponding to the second I/O function, and disconnects the first virtual MAC address of the first virtual NIC corresponding to the first I/O function.

Abstract:
A system comprises a first storage system, a second storage system, a plurality of switches, and a server connected with the first storage system via a first group of switches and connected with the second storage system via a second group of switches. The first group and the second group have at least one switch which is not included in both the first and second groups. The first storage system receives I/O commands targeted to first logical units from the server via the first group of switches. The first storage system maintains first information regarding the ports of both the first and second storage systems. The first information is used to generate multipath communication between the server and the first storage system, including at least one path which passes through the second storage system and at least one other path which does not pass through the second storage system.

Abstract:
A method for node provisioning in a storage system includes providing an I/O module in the storage system having a network and a storage subsystem, the network connecting the I/O module and the storage subsystem. The I/O module is connected to first and second computer systems and configured to provide virtualized I/O links to the first and second computer systems. A first virtual I/O link associated with a first boot image is mapped to the first computer system, the first boot image being associated with a first I/O device mounted in the I/O module. An I/O switch in the I/O module is caused to connect the first virtual I/O link to the first computer system. The first boot image is suitable for booting a plurality of computer systems connected to the I/O module.
An input/output (I/O) device includes at least one communication port; at least one storage device attached to the I/O device and is configured to provide a storage volume; and an I/O manager configured to manage operations of the I/O device. The I/O manager is configured to receive a request to create a new logical volume, create a new logical volume on the storage device based on the request, and define a first relationship between the created logical volume and a virtual I/O instance based on the request. The virtual I/O instance is a virtual access point for enabling a computer system connected to the I/O device via the communication port to access the created logical volume.
