Abstract:
An EGR cooler comprises a cooling core having a plurality of passages for accommodating the flow of exhaust gas therethrough, an exhaust gas inlet chamber connected to the cooling core, for receiving exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine and passing the exhaust gas to the cooling core, and an exhaust gas outlet chamber separate from the exhaust gas inlet chamber and connected to the cooling core for receiving exhaust gas from the core. The cooler further includes means for permitting the controlled passage of exhaust gas from the exhaust gas inlet chamber to the exhaust gas outlet chamber without passing through the cooling core, said means being positioned upstream from the exhaust gas outlet chamber. Configured in this manner, the EGR cooler permits the mixing of cooled exhaust gas with uncooled exhaust to provide a desired exiting gas temperature that is below an exhaust gas dew point.

Abstract:
A coated piston ring and method of manufacture for internal combustion engines and compressors. The piston ring having a outer peripheral surface that is coated with a thin substantially final finish spray wear resistant coating for contacting the cylinder wall. The material coating is deposited by high velocity oxygen fuel spray apparatus and a sharp bottom edge is lapped thereon for contacting the cylinder wall of the apparatus. The method of manufacturing comprising rotating a plurality of piston rings about a central axis while the high velocity oxygen fuel gun sprays molten coating material thereon. The molten coating material forming a mechanical interlock with the ring blank to produce a substantially final finish spray coating on the periphery of the piston rings.

Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed to a self-propelling surgical device and method for using the same. The device is configured to drill a hole into an object, such as a bone, and subsequently insert an implant, such as a screw or pin, into the hole. The device drills the hole and inserts the implant under its own power. The device may perform desired actions automatically or manually.
