Abstract:

A wireless communications network ( ) having a plurality of cells ( ) and base stations ( ), the wireless communications network ( ) comprising a mobile station ( ) including a power source ( ) readable by the mobile station ( ). The power source ( ) is encoded to provide information about origination and type of the power source ( ) to the mobile station ( ). Power capacity levels of the power source ( ) are measured and also provided to the wireless communications network ( ). The network ( ) further comprises a switching center (generally the MSC ) for communicating with the mobile station ( ) with the MSC ( ) adapted to receive power source ( ) information from the mobile station ( ). Thus, the wireless communications network ( ) may receive information about origination, type, and power capacity levels of the power source ( ).
