Abstract:
A mandreled tube punch includes a cantilevered mandrel and an arbor housing for securing the cantilevered mandrel. The cantilevered mandrel has a bore longitudinally disposed therethrough and the mandrel is adapted to secure a workpiece, or tubular stock, to be punched. An evacuation apparatus in the form of a pushrod is disposed within the longitudinally disposed mandrel bore and is arranged for movement therein and removes punched material from the work area. The punching device further includes a punching means for punching the workpiece and includes a punch housing having an aperture that accepts the workpiece positioned on the mandrel. The punch assembly prevents the workpiece from becoming damaged as a result of punching operations and efficiently, effectively and safely removes punched material from the work area.
The invention involves a novel structure used in piercing a metal workpiece. Other workpieces made from materials other than metal may be used, if desired. The structure uses a punch plate having movably connected below it a stripper plate. A spring means connects these two plates so that they are movable toward each other. The stripper plate has an aperture centrally located therein and a tubular punch guide fitted over the aperture. A punch housing containing a punch is telescopically fitted within said tubular punch guide and will travel through the length of the punch guide and will travel through the length of the punch guide, through the aperture and puncture a workpiece held below. The tubular punch guide prevents side to side movement of the punch and punch housing to substantialy minimize damage to the punch and supporting structures.
The novel vacuum sealer of this invention has three wires that are heated to varying degrees. Two wires are used or dedicated to sealing a plastic bag and one of the wires is used to cut the bag after the vacuum sealing step. The vacuum sealer is tapered downwardly, i. e. has a low profile, for a better air flow during the vacuuming step. A turbine with curved fins is used to increase the air flow and reduce the time to evacuate air from the bag. Also, the low profile of the unit, the increased size air ducts and the curved fins on the turbine, provide a more effective system for evacuating air from the plastic bag to be used.

Abstract:
The invention provides a punch press capable of impressing a plurality of holes or other changes in a workpiece. The central core piece of the punch press receives the workpiece and expands until it touches the inner walls of the workpiece. This holds the workpiece in place and prevents any workpiece movement or distortions in the holes formed because of movement of the workpiece. Hydraulic cylinders impel the plurality of punches toward the workpiece at substantially the same pressure and time.
