The present invention relates to a novel super-concentrated, liquid detergent composition comprising a primary surfactant system, a secondary surfactant system, and water. In this composition, the primary surfactant system comprises at least one primary surfactant chosen from a linear alkyl benzene sulfonic acid, a linear alkyl benzene sulfonate, an -olefin sulfonate, an alcohol ether sulfate, an alkyl sulfate, and alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, amine and ammonium salts thereof, the secondary surfactant system comprises at least one secondary surfactant chosen from an alkyl polyglycoside and an -sulfomethyl ester, and the weight ratio of the at least one primary surfactant to the at least one secondary surfactant, based on the solids content of the detergent composition, is at least 3:1. When the secondary surfactant system comprises only an -sulfomethyl ester as the secondary surfactant, the weight ratio of the at least one primary surfactant to the -sulfomethyl ester, based on the solids content of the detergent composition, is at least 2. 7:1. The invention also relates to a method for cleaning soiled dishware, pots and/or pans comprising contacting the soiled dishware, pots and/or pans with these novel detergent compositions, and subsequently removing the soil from the dishware.

A long-lasting persistent, uniform film-forming skin protecting germicidal composition provides a long-lasting persistent barrier film when applied to skin. The compositions have particular utility as barrier teat dips for protecting cows against mastitis. A barrier film-forming agent is selected from the modified or hydrolyzed polysaccharides, particularly a hydrolyzed or modified starch, such as dextrin and maltodextrin. The barrier film-forming agent is stably solubilized in a solvent that dries to form the long-lasting persistent uniform film over the animal skin. The compositions also contain antimicrobial agents that fight against microbes that manage to penetrate the protective barrier film. Particularly, advantageous is that all the materials used are safe food additive and cost effective over the traditional barrier film forming agents.

Liquid, shelf-stable alkaline cleaning compositions with chlorine bleach comprising a chlorine bleach capable of forming a hypochlorite in water, a bleach stabilizer selected from the group consisting of compounds having at least one NH— or NH— moiety capable of reacting with the hypochlorite to form NCl—, NHCl— or NCl— compounds, and from about 5-50% by weight of a metal hydroxide. Compositions according to the present invention are highly alkaline preferably presenting a pH of at least about 11.5. The compositions provide sustained hypochlorite bleach functionality and long term bleach stability even in the presence of surfactants. The bleach compositions are useful in cleaning and sanitizing household, institutional, and industrial hard surfaces including clean-in-place systems and food processing equipment.
Use of a liquid composition comprising at least two agents selected from lactic acid, salicylic acid, benzyl alcohol, and/or low molecular weight aliphatic alcohol having less than five carbon atoms for the manufacture of an antimicrobial solution is disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, the antimicrobial solution is formulated as a teat dip for lactating animals, particularly cows. The composition may be used as a prophylactic treatment or for wound healing, and is particularly useful against mastitis. The antimicrobial compositions may be used in personal care, hard surface care including hard surface disinfection in households, food processing, hospitals, restaurants, hotels, showers, or topically as hand soaps, surgical scrubs, and hoof disease mitigators.
