Eric Frohnapfel Interview 8-5
The senior speaks about the biggest difference in morning & afternoon ...
Cato threw a 2-yard TD pass to Eric Frohnapfel and Butler immediately followed a Doughty interception with a 48-yard touchdown run to pull Marshall within seven, but Doughty and Cato each found the end zone once more before the intermission to make it 49-42 at the break.
In the third quarter, in which Marshall is outscoring foes 118-24, Cato hit Eric Frohnapfel from 30 yards and Johnson added a 2-yard run. Frohnapfel broke the 100-yard mark, gaining 107 on six catches.
Rakeem Cato completed 23-of-37 pass attempts for 299 yards and four touchdowns to four different receivers. Ryan Yuracheck, Hyleck Foster, Eric Frohnapfel, and Deon-Tay McManus each had touchdown receptions on the day.
Following the break, Marshall scored the first 21 points of the half, squeezing a pair of Cato touchdown passes to tight end Eric Frohnapfel and wide receiver Deon-Tay McManus around a Johnson 2-yard plunge.
Devon Johnson's 42-yard run set up Haig's 21-yard chip shot just before the break, and Cato hooked up with Eric Frohnapfel for a 30-yard TD early into the second half to eclipse Pennington's 15-year old record.
"There's always been the gripe all season that we don't have the strength of schedule," Marshall tight end Eric Frohnapfel said. "This is a good win for us. Eventually we're going to get the attention we deserve."
