Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention include a computer-implemented systems and methods for accessing metadata across a network. A metadata server receives requests to access a data source from one or more clients. The metadata server is coupled between one or more backend servers and the clients. The backend servers may be coupled to the data sources of interest. The metadata server provides a metadata service proxy for establishing communications with the backend servers and for signaling the backend servers to establish connections to data sources. Data sources may be stateful or stateless. For stateless data sources, the metadata server may dynamically create reusable metadata service provider proxies that receive metadata from metadata service providers on the backend servers. For stateful data sources, unique metadata service provider proxies may be dynamically created and used to service client requests.
Regulating The Production Of Long Chain Hydrocarbons
The invention relates to isolated polypeptides that include amino acid sequences within botryococcene synthase from different algal species. In another aspect, the invention relates to a method for increasing the production level of a botryococcene hydrocarbon molecule in a cell. The method includes increasing expression of a polynucleotide sequence that encodes botryococcene synthase in the cell. In a further aspect, the invention relates to an algal cell having a polynucleotide sequence that is genetically engineered to express a higher level of botryococcene synthase than a corresponding wild type algal cell, wherein the cell produces an increased level of a botryococcene hydrocarbon molecule than a corresponding wild type algal cell.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for increasing the production level of isoprenoids in an algal cell. The method includes increasing expression of a polynucleotide sequence that encodes 4-hydroxy-3-methylbut-2-enyl diphosphate reductase (IDS) in the algal cell. In another aspect, the invention relates to a method for increasing the production level of carotenoids in an algal cell. The method includes increasing expression of polynucleotide sequence that encodes phytoene desaturases (PDS) in the algal cell. In a further aspect, the invention relates to an algal cell having a polynucleotide sequence that is genetically engineered to express a higher level of IDS or PDS than a corresponding wild type algal cell, wherein the cell produces an increased level of isoprenoids or carotenoids, respectively, than a corresponding wild type algal cell.
Method Of Treating An Article With A Plasma Apparatus In Which A Uniform Electric Field Is Induced By A Dielectric Window

International Classification:

US Classification:

Abstract:
A method of plasma treating an article in a housing having a chamber in which the article such as a wafer can be treated with plasma. The housing includes at least one inlet port connected to an interior of the chamber through which process gas can be supplied to the chamber. A radiofrequency energy source is arranged to pass radiofrequency energy into the chamber and induce plasma in the interior of the chamber by activating, with an electric field induced by the radiofrequency energy source, process gas supplied to the chamber through the inlet port. A dielectric window having an inner surface thereof forms part of an inner wall of the chamber. Radiofrequency energy passes from the radiofrequency energy source to the interior of the chamber through the dielectric window. The dielectric window has a thickness which varies at different points along the inner surface thereof such that the thickness is largest at a central portion of the dielectric window. The dielectric window is effective to decrease the induced electric field in the interior of the chamber near the central portion of the dielectric window.

Abstract:
Persistent storage contains a definition of a playbook and a plurality of subtasks for the playbook, wherein some of the subtasks are respectively associated with corresponding data sources that provide units of related information. One or more processors can: generate a representation of a graphical user interface including a menu pane, a subtask pane, and a related information pane, wherein the menu pane is populated with selectable objects representing the subtasks; receive an indication that a particular selectable object representing a particular subtask has been selected; determine that a particular data source corresponding to the particular subtask can provide a particular unit of the related information; obtain, from the particular data source, the particular unit of the related information; and update the representation to include details of the particular subtask in the subtask pane, and to include the particular unit of the related information in the related information pane.
