Abstract:Disclosed is the new pentanuclear bimetallic cluster complex H. sub. 2 Fe. sub. 2 Os. sub. 3 (CO). sub. 15. Such complex is made by reacting a salt of [HFe(CO). sub. 4 ]. sup. 1- and H. sub. 2 Os. sub. 3 (CO). sub. 10 in a solvent which solubilizes said salt to generate an [HFe(CO). sub. 4 ]. sup. 1- anion. Addition of a protic acid then causes the formation of H. sub. 2 Fe. sub. 2 Os. sub. 3 (CO). sub. 15.
