Abstract:
A device for securing a container to a hoist includes a frame rigidly connectable to the hoist; first and second hooks mounted in mutually close proximity and to the frame to rotate about an axis between a retracted, unlocked position away from the long sill of the container and an activated, locking position disposed at least partially over the long sill; an actuator mounted to the frame to move between an activating position and a retracting position, the actuator engageable with the hooks to rotate the hooks from the activated, locking position to the retracted, unlocked position when the actuator moves from the activating position and the retracting position; springs operationally connected with the hooks for urging the hooks toward the activated, locking position; and, a power device connected with the actuator to move the actuator between the activating and retracting positions.

Abstract:
A waste container includes a container body defining at least one opening; a door sized and configured to close off the at least one opening; a seal connected with one of the container body and the door; a hinge assembly connected between the container body and the door to permit the door to swing between a closed position covering the opening and an open position uncovering the opening, the hinge assembly including at least one hinge unit and at least one control mechanism, the at least one hinge unit having at least first and second door rotation axes and the hinge assembly including a control mechanism mechanically connected between the container body and the door to control the degree of rotation of the door about the at least first and second door rotation axes; wherein the seal is juxtaposed relative to the container body and the door to provide a fluid tight seal between the container body and the door when the door is in a closed and sealed position; and, a latching assembly mechanically connected between the container body and the door to hold the door in the closed and sealed position.

Abstract:
A vehicle mounted hoist includes a vehicle having a main frame with a rear, an apron assembly connected to the rear of the main frame, a hoist frame pivotally connected at a hoist hinge to the apron assembly, and drive means for pivoting the hoist frame between a rest position and an inclined, loading position; and, a stabilizer assembly including a stabilizer having a distal end and being pivotally mounted to the apron assembly, the stabilizer assembly further including stabilizer pivot means connected between the stabilizer and the hoist frame for pivoting the stabilizer between a retracted position and an extended position, the extended position including the distal end of the stabilizer being at or near the ground.
Roll-Off Hoist For Variable Positioning Of Containers
A vehicle mounted roll-off hoist having a main hoist frame pivotally mounted at its rearward end to a vehicle such as a semi-trailer or truck, and including a pair of hydraulic lift actuators adapted to move the main hoist frame between a horizontal position and a rearwardly inclined position. A hydraulic actuator apparatus is provided for pulling a container onto the main frame of the hoist or setting off the container from the hoist. An extensible and retractable stop carriage is slidably connected to the forward end portion of the hoist main frame. Hydraulic actuator and locking elements are associated with the stop carriage for placing the container in the optimum position for transport on the vehicle. The hoist is capable of handling containers of both the outside rail and the inside rail type.
Roll-Off Hoist For Variable Positioning Of Containers And Method For Use Thereof
A transport vehicle mounted roll-off hoist having a main frame pivotally mounted on the rearward end of a vehicle such as a semi-trailer or truck, including a pair of hydraulic lift actuators adapted to move the main frame of the hoist between a horizontal position and a rearwardly inclined position. A hydraulic actuator winch is provided for lifting a container onto the main frame of the hoist or setting off the container from the hoist. An extensible and retractable stop carriage is telescopically connected to the forward end portion of the hoist main frame. Hydraulic actuator and locking means are associated with the stop carriage for placing the container in the optimum position for transport on the vehicle. The hoist is capable of handling containers of both the outside rail and the inside rail type.

Abstract:
A roll-off hoist includes a trailer main frame having a forward end defining a first pair of tracks and having a rearward end; a roll-off hoist frame hingedly connected at its rearward end to the rearward end of the main frame to pivot between a horizontal transport position and a rearwardly inclined loading position, the hoist frame adapted to receive a container directly atop and adjacent thereto, the hoist frame defining a second pair of tracks which align with the first pair of tracks when the hoist frame is in the horizontal transport position; a trolley mounted to slide within the first and second pair of tracks; trolley stop means mounted on the trolley for engagement with coacting container stop means on a container; a cable which apparatus anchored to the hoist frame and adapted to pull the container onto the hoist frame; and actuator means interposed between the trolley and the hoist frame for moving the trolley within the first and second pairs of tracks and moving a container connected to the trolley forwardly of the hoist frame.

Abstract:
A container handling system is adapted to move, deploy, and retrieve containers used to manage waste or other materials. The container handling system includes a vehicle and a hoist unit coupled to the vehicle to move therewith and relative to the vehicle. The hoist unit includes a hoist frame and a hoist-frame mover coupled to both the vehicle and the hoist frame to cause the hoist frame to move between a transport position in which the hoist frame is generally horizontal and a use position in which the hoist frame is arranged at an angle relative to the horizontal to facilitate deployment and retrieval of containers.
