  • Filed:
    Sep 20, 2000
  • Appl. No.:
    09/646691
  • Inventors:
Stephen J. McConnell - San Diego CA
Dominic G. Spinella - La Costa CA
  • Assignee:
Chugai Seiyaku Kabushiki Kaisha - Tokyo
  • International Classification:
    C07K 1400
  • US Classification:
    530300, 530326, 435375, 930 90
  • Abstract:
Clones isolated from phage display libraries that bound to an erythropoietin (EPO) receptor probe are disclosed. Peptides encoded by sequences of those clones that bound to the EPO receptor are disclosed. A 12-mer amino acid consensus sequence, CXXGWVGXCXXW (where X represents one of many amino acids), common to the peptides that bound to the EPO receptor, but unrelated to the primary structure of EPO, is disclosed.

  • Method For Analyzing Quantitative Expression Of Genes

    view source
  • US Patent:
    59687843, Oct 19, 1999
  • Filed:
    Jan 15, 1997
  • Appl. No.:
    8/784208
  • Inventors:
Dominic G. Spinella - La Costa CA
Fereydoun G. Sajjadi - Encinitas CA
  • Assignee:
Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. - Tokyo
  • International Classification:
    C12P 1934
    C12N 1564
  • US Classification:
    435 911
  • Abstract:
The present invention provides novel methods for identifying gene expression patterns in mRNA populations. The methods are useful for determining differential gene expression among various cells or tissues, including cells or tissues of a target organism. The invention also provides methods of determining the frequency of gene expression in mRNA populations, thus providing a method of comparing gene expression frequency among various cells or tissues. The present invention also provides methods for isolating genes corresponding to tag sequences identified according to the methods of the present invention. Furthermore, sequences that are identified according to the present invention may be used to diagnose the presence of disease.
