Outstanding Senior
Department of English
In the College of Liberal Arts, an Outstanding Senior is defined as one who has excelled in academic performance and in service to their school or department and the university community. Awardees are selected by their department faculty and chairs and recognized at a ceremony the day before spring commencement.
Dean's Award
The Honors College at Washington State University
Awardees of the Dean's Award have challenged themselves to develop their full potential to lead and serve local, national, and global communities; demonstrate genuine intellectual curiosity and a lifelong love of learning; and exhibit skills in critical thinking, writing, public presentation, and information literacy. They embody values of the Honors College including: respect for diversity among individuals; high standards of scholarship and achievement; integrity, character, and moral responsibility; engagement with, and responsibility to, their community; independent thinking and intellectual risk-taking; creativity; global awareness and responsibility; and a spirit of service and philanthropy.
The President's Award for Leadership and Service

Since 1996, the President’s Award has been an honor bestowed annually to students and others who advance leadership and engagement at WSU. Recipients of this prestigious award demonstrate exceptional leadership and service to the university and the community and/or support leadership development and engagement of WSU students. The 2013 award categories are student, student group, faculty, staff, and community organization.
