Abstract:
A turn control system is provided having four wheels and a steering wheel that controls the vehicle steering. A steering wheel angle sensor senses an angle of rotation of the steering wheel. An acceleration sensing device senses an acceleration demand. A wheel speed sensing device senses a wheel speed for each of the four wheels. A turn control activation switch enables the turn control system and shifts a vehicle transmission to one of a low or reverse operating gear. A brake control module calculates a target vehicle speed, a vehicle turning geometry, and target wheel speeds. A braking torque command signal is generated for modulating the brake torque. An engine torque command signal is generated for modulating an engine torque for producing the target vehicle speed. A respective additional braking torque is applied to at least one of the wheels for reducing the vehicle turning radius while maintaining the vehicle target speed.

A method is provided for controlling a low speed operation of a vehicle. A speed activation switch is activated. A target vehicle speed is calculated in response to an accelerator pedal demand as determined by an accelerator pedal position where each respective accelerator pedal position is associated with a respective predetermined target vehicle speed. A vehicle turning geometry is determined in response to a steering wheel angle input. A target wheel speed of each of a plurality of vehicle wheels is calculated as a function of the target vehicle speed and turning geometry. An actual wheel speed of each wheel is measured. A net torque is determined in response to the target wheel speeds and actual wheel speeds. An engine output torque and a braking torque are determined in response to the net torque. The engine output torque and the total vehicle braking torque are controlled for cooperatively maintaining the target vehicle speed.

Abstract:
A method for controlling a vehicle wheel brake that includes applying a pulse width modulated voltage to an isolation valve located between a master brake cylinder and the wheel brake to develop a differential pressure across the isolation valve that is applied to the wheel brake. The differential pressure is a function of the duty cycle of the applied voltage. Because the operation of the isolation valve allows a flow of fluid through the valve, changes in the master cylinder pressure are passed through the isolation valve to the wheel brake.

Abstract:
Beta and alpha-ray particles emitted by radio-isotopic by-products of nuclear fission, such as nickel are used as a power source at the cathode of a microwave generating magnetron. Such particles include high speed, high energy electrons having a large EMF associated therewith. In the magnetron, a radial electrical vector, between the cathode and anode, interacts with an axial magnetic vector to produce a cloud of electrons that rotates about the magnetron axis. The speed, geometry and density of the rotating cloud may be modulated by an external RF input or grids within the interaction space of the magnetron. At the periphery of the interaction space is a polar array of anode cavities into which the rotating field induces an LC equivalent parameter that includes high energy microwaves that may be used as an input for the generation of AC or DC power.
System For Generation Of Useful Electrical Power From Isotopic Emissions
Particles emitted by radio-isotopic by-products of nuclear fission are used as a power source at the cathode of a magnetron system. Particles include high energy electrons having a large associated EMF. In the system a radial electrical vector E, between the cathode and anode, interacts with an axial magnetic vector B vector to produce an E×B force that rotates the particles about the system axis. These emissions are within a set range of velocities. The angular velocity and geometry of a rotating field, known as a space charge wheel (SCW), may be modulated by an external RF inputs to cavities of an anode block and the use of concentric biasing grids between the cathode and anode block. The SCW induces LC values into cavities of the anode, exciting them and producing electrons resonance which may be used to generate power.

A technique is described for the application of three-dimensional (3D) relief to a substrate such as a ceramic tile using digital inkjet technology. In an example embodiment, the introduced technique includes application of binder ink to a portion of the surface of a substrate using a digital inkjet process. This binder ink forms a barrier layer which protects the portion of the surface of the substrate. Next, a brushing process is applied to remove unprotected portions of the substrate, thereby forming the 3D relief in the substrate.
