Abstract:

Multiple business channels are provided for a borrower to apply for an automobile loan and, in addition, multiple channels are provided for the distribution of loan funds for approved applications to borrowers. Through implementation of a network of partner lenders, a primary lender may offer a seamless integration of its loan products with partner lenders across multiple channels. A borrower may investigate automobile loan products, submit an application for an automobile loan, and receive a decision of whether or not the application was approved. For loans that are approved, the borrower may further commit to the terms to the loan, resulting in the production of a check that the borrower may use to purchase an automobile.

Abstract:

A composite molded article composed of a backing layer of fiber-reinforced thermosetting resin and an outer layer of a thermoplastic resin which is mechanically interlocked to the backing layer through the fiber reinforcement. In fabrication, a layer of fibrous material impregnated with an uncured thermosetting resin is placed in a mold and a molten thermoplastic resin is injected into the mold. The heat of the thermoplastic resin serves to cure the thermosetting resin and the resulting composite article has a rigid, high strength backing formed of the reinforced thermosetting resin and has a smooth thermoplastic outer surface which is receptive to surface finishes.

Abstract:

An electronic presentation system is presented utilizing a wireless remote for controlling a digital computer, one or more display or storage/playback devices and an audience response system. A Terminate and Stay Resident (TSR) program within the digital computer manages the wireless remote. The digital computer running the TSR program enables the wireless remote to operate any applications program, as well as to use the computer to add spontaneously certain special effects to the presentation and to control an audience response system. In addition, the computer downloads into the wireless remote control, via a wireless communications link, data commands and signalling parameters such as modulation scheme and communications protocol with which to enable the wireless remote to generate the correct signalling to operate predefined display or storage/playback device.

Abstract:

A mirror assembly for a vehicle. A small, flat mirror is mounted through use of a wedge-shaped adhesive block to the inside portion of a conventional side view mirror. The block positions the small mirror at an angle of about 15. degree. to 20. degree. with respect to the plane of the side view mirror to thereby eliminate the "blind spot" to the side and the rear of the vehicle.

The current document is directed to offloading communications processing from server computers to hardware controllers, including network interface controllers. In one implementation, the transport channel and zero, one, or more protocol channels immediately overlying the transport channel of a Windows Communication Foundation communications stack are offloaded to a network interface controller. The offloading of communications processing carried out by the methods and systems to which the current document is directed involves minimal supporting development and is configurable, during service-application initialization, by exchange of relatively small amounts of information between an enhanced NIC and the communications stack.
