Abstract:
A crosslinkable composition comprising from 50 to 98 percent by weight of an epoxidized monohydroxylated polydiene polymer which is comprised of at least two polymerizable ethenically unsaturated hydrocarbon monomers wherein at least one is a diene monomer which yields unsaturation which is suitable for epoxidation, and from 50 to 2 percent by weight of an amino resin. The preferred polymer for use herein has the formulawherein A and B are polymer blocks which may be homopolymer blocks of conjugated diolefin monomers, copolymer blocks of conjugated diolefin monomers, or copolymer blocks of diolefin monomers and monoalkenyl aromatic hydrocarbon monomers, S is a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon block, x and y are 0 or 1 and either x or y must be 1 but only one at a time can be 1, and z is 0 or 1, and contains from 0.2 to 7.0 meq of epoxy per gram of polymer.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to gels prepared from novel anionic block copolymers of mono alkenyl arenes and conjugated dienes, and to blends of such block copolymers with other polymers. The block copolymers are selectively hydrogenated and have mono alkenyl arene end blocks and controlled distribution blocks of mono alkenyl arenes and conjugated dienes. The block copolymer may be combined with tackifying resins, oils and other components to form the gels of the present invention.

Solvent Based, Elastomeric Coatings With Lower Voc
The present invention relates to solvent based coatings which have a low level of volatile organics compounds (VOC) meeting California VOC regulations and which can be spray applied as a coating on a variety of surfaces. The coating formulation comprises a hydrogenated styrene/butadiene triblock copolymer, a hydrogenated styrene/butadiene diblock copolymer, at least one hydrocarbon solvent, at least one VOC exempt solvent, a midblock tackifying resin, and a pigment or filler. The relative amounts of solvent, tackifying resin and pigment are adjusted to obtain a solvent based, elastomeric coating having a VOC content of no more than 250 grams per liter and a viscosity no higher than 2,000 centipoise @ 25 C. as measured according to ASTM D2196.
Pressure Sensitive Adhesive And Compositions Prepared With Same
Disclosed is a pressure sensitive adhesive comprising a tackifying resin and a block copolymer having the general formula: S1-B1-S2-B2 wherein S1, B1, S2, and B2 are polymer blocks, and B1 is a block of polymerized conjugated diene comprising at least 50 mole percent isoprene and having an apparent molecular weight of from about 150,000 to about 400,000; S1 and S2 are blocks of polymerized mono-vinylaromatic hydrocarbon having a weight average molecular weight of about 12,000 to about 40,000; and B2 is a block of polymerized conjugated diene comprising at least 50 mole percent isoprene having an apparent molecular weight of from about 15,000 to about 60,000. The weight ratio of B1 over B2 is from about 3.0 to about 12.0; and the content of polymerized mono-vinylaromatic hydrocarbon is from about 10 to about 35 weight percent. The pressure sensitive adhesive can be used in the production of a composition comprising a substrate and adherent thereto the adhesive, such as a label, tape, or a disposable product.
