Abstract:
A method and apparatus for detecting electromigration at its outset includes a pair of conductive traces deposited on a substrate in an integrated circuit. A multiplicity of conductors are connected along the length of the traces. Current is passed through the traces and the resistances of the traces from one conductor connection to the next are continually monitored by observing the voltage drop from one conductor to the next. The connection of the conductors to the traces may be less than one micrometer apart. When resistance changes as a result of the onset of electromigration, the exact location can be determined and studied in optical or scanning electron micrographs.

Abstract:
Embodiments and examples of differential threshold voltage non-volatile memories and related methods are described herein. In one example, a method for providing an integrated circuit can comprise providing a memory cell coupled to a first bitline and to a second bitline, and at least one of (a) providing a read assist mechanism configured to couple to the memory cell via the first and second bitlines, or (b) providing a memory reset mechanism configured to couple to the memory cell via the first and second bitlines. Providing the memory cell can comprise providing a first transistor comprising a first threshold voltage, providing a second transistor comprising a second threshold voltage, and cross-coupling the first and second transistors of the memory cell together. A difference between the first and second threshold voltages can correspond to a logic state of the memory cell. Other embodiments, examples, and related methods are also disclosed herein.

Abstract:
An electrical system according to various aspects of the present invention includes a supply configured to provide a signal at a desired level. The supply monitors the output signal and compares the output signal to multiple thresholds. If the signal crosses a coarse-adjustment threshold, the supply coarsely adjusts the output to the load to quickly drive the signal toward the target level. If the signal crosses a fine adjustment threshold, the supply finely adjusts the output.
