Rep. Cory Atkins, a Concord Democrat, said she had taken a trip to London and learned that in planning for its Olympics the city had been able to set in motion a 50-year plan with housing and transportation components.
"We have a lot of wonderful Democratic leaders. We got along quite well before the lieutenant governor and governor and I'm assuming we'll get along quite well after," said state Rep. Cory Atkins, a Concord Democrat who also represents Acton and precincts in Chelmsford and Carlisle.

Legislation introduced by Rep. Cory Atkins, D-Concord, would amend the current law to ban all Massachusetts drivers, regardless of age, from using cellphones unless they have a hands-free device. A similar bill proposed by Rep. Jay Kaufman, D-Lexington, would add a carrot-and-stick provision to th
