Abstract:
A method of adapting a pressurized fluid supply to a torque converter clutch is provided. The method includes: learning a first pressure point related to an average of ramp pressure and an average of engine torque over a first time period; learning a second pressure point related to a second average of ramp pressure and a second average of engine torque over a second time period; determining a plurality of adapt values based on at least one of an extrapolation and an interpolation between the first pressure point and the second pressure point; and adapting the pressurized fluid to the torque converter clutch based on the plurality of adapt values.

Abstract:
A method of regulating gear shifts of a transmission driven by an engine includes calculating a first torque error and calculating a second torque error. A compensation torque is determined based on the first torque error and the second torque error. The gear shifts are regulated based on the compensation torque.

Abstract:
A processor integrity system in a vehicle includes m main processor modules that control at least m respective functions of the vehicle, where m is n integer greater than or equal to one. A monitoring processor module controls at least one function of the vehicle, communicates with the m main processor modules over a distributed vehicle network, selectively transmits a query to at least one of the m main processor modules over the distributed vehicle network, receives an answer from the at least one of the m main processor modules over the distributed vehicle network, that verifies integrity of the at least one of the m main processor modules based on the answer.

Abstract:
A torque converter control system for a vehicle includes a torque converter having a torque converter clutch (TCC) that selectively couples an engine and a transmission for common rotation. A control module regulates the TCC between an engaged state and a disengaged state. The control module monitors an output shaft signal of the transmission and detects rapid deceleration of the vehicle based on the output shaft signal. The control module switches the TCC to the disengaged state when rapid deceleration is detected.

Abstract:
A transmission of a vehicle has a first gear and a second gear that corresponds to a lower gear ratio than the first gear. A transmission management system for the transmission comprises an enabling module, a shift control module, and a disabling module. The enabling module enables a second gear start mode of the transmission when a vehicle speed is less than a predetermined speed. The shift control module commands operation of the transmission in the second gear when the second gear start mode is enabled. The disabling module selectively disables the second gear start mode when a user commands a gear shift to the first gear while the second gear start mode is enabled and prevents the enabling module from re-enabling the second gear start mode after the second gear start mode is disabled.

Abstract:
A control system includes a shift detection module, a request generation module, and a request setting module. The shift detection module detects when a transmission is executing a shift. The request generation module generates a transmission torque request to cause an engine to increase a transmission input shaft speed to a desired speed at a desired gear ratio when the transmission is executing the shift. The request setting module selectively sets the transmission torque request equal to a default torque request when the transmission torque request is greater than a first torque and the engine is coupled to a drive wheel.

Abstract:
A method of dynamically controlling pressure to a torque converter clutch (TCC) of a torque converter coupled to a transmission is provided. The method includes: monitoring throttle position; monitoring engine speed; controlling pressure to the torque converter clutch to increase slip after the throttle position indicates a tip-in has occurred and when engine speed is low; regulating at least one of a transmission steady state pressure to the transmission and pressure to the torque converter to maintain the increased slip; and controlling pressure to the torque converter to reduce slip by engaging the torque converter clutch.
