Abstract:
A hole cutter for cutting a work piece, such as a wood and/or metal work piece, has a substantially cylindrical blade body defining a wall thickness within the range of about 0. 032 inch to about 0. 038 inch, and a cutting edge formed on one end of the blade body including a plurality of teeth defining an average tooth pitch within the range of about 3. 5 TPI to about 5. 5 TPI for cutting the work piece and forming chips therefrom. The substantially cylindrical blade body and cutting edge define an average tooth pitch to blade body thickness ratio of at least about 110.

Abstract:
A coated hole cutter including an ink-based colored coating applied only to the external surface of the cylindrical blade body of the hole cutter, but not to the surfaces of a circumferentially-extending cutting edge or to the interior surface of the blade body. The ink-based color coating is an ultraviolet activated ink that cures when the coating is exposed to a specific ultraviolet light intensity and wavelength. At least the surfaces of the cutting edge and the internal surface of the blade body, which do not include the coating, have a steam tempered oxide finish that imparts a color that contrasts with the color imparted by the coating.

Abstract:
An installation tool for fastening a top plate to a roof support member and other structural connections is adapted to drive threaded fasteners at a pre-established angle. The tool preferably includes a rotary driver assembly and a telescopic tube assembly. A guide head assembly is mounted adjacent the outer end of the telescopic tube assembly. Locating or reference structures function to properly precisely set the drive angle of the fastener. Various indicators mounted to the guide head indicate the flush position of a locating surface or reference structure. The flush indicators may employ a projection, a flag, an LED or an audio module.

Abstract:
A tensioning mechanism for a hack saw blade extends through a pin holder mounting slot of a hack saw frame and applies tension to a hack saw blade attached thereto. The tensioning mechanism includes a first portion having a configuration that, with respect to a configuration of the slot, permits rotation of the tensioning mechanism when the first portion extends through the mounting slot. The tensioning mechanism also includes a second portion having a configuration that, with respect to the configuration of the slot, engages into the slot only in select rotational orientations thereof relative to the slot, wherein one of said orientations is angularly separated from another orientation by a substantially set rotational angle of the second portion. The tensioning mechanism further includes first and second mechanisms configured to prevent removal of the tensioning mechanism from the mounting slot once extended therethrough.
