Abstract:

A detachable tip sheathed balloon microcatheter is provided for delivering an embolic agent to a target location for the embolization of an arteriovenous malformation (AVM). The detachable tip sheathed balloon microcatheter including a balloon microcatheter including a first shaft and an inflatable balloon that is coupled to a distal end portion of the first shaft; and a detachable tip assembly that is configured to be detachably coupled to the first shaft of the balloon microcatheter. The detachable tip assembly includes a protective balloon sheath that is coupled to a proximal end portion of the second shaft, wherein when the detachable tip assembly is coupled to the balloon microcatheter, the protective balloon sheath surrounds at least a portion of the inflatable balloon.

The present invention includes a method for generating a three-dimensional model of a bone. The method may further include generating a cut plan for excavating a portion of the bone according to the cut plan to allow the insertion of a custom implant. In a particular arrangement, the method may includes excavating the bone with an autonomous extremity excavator utilizing the cut plan generated by a processor. In a further arrangement, the method may include generating a digital model of a custom implant and generating, using the digital model, a physical model sharing the same dimensions as the digital module using manufacturing device.

A detachable cooling apparatus comprises: a distal miming catheter forming a distal lumen that provides liquid as an input and a proximal miming catheter forming a proximal lumen that receives the liquid as an output, where the proximal miming catheter is connected to the distal running catheter. A focal hypothermia-inducing fluidics system comprises a thermal management and flow system (TMFS) that is operable to alter a liquid to a specific temperature and to regulate a flow rate, a closed-circuit flow system with a detachable cooling apparatus, a distal sensor array, a pump for moving the liquid through the TMFS, an inflow port that receives the liquid from the proximal running catheter, a plurality of capillary tubes that cool the liquid, and an outflow port that returns the liquid to the distal miming catheter.
