Abstract:
A portable communication product () such as a cellular phone includes a transceiver radio having a microphone (), an earpiece (), a keypad () and a display () coupled to the transceiver radio. The portable communication product further includes at least one sensor ( or ) and a processor (). The sensor can be used for detecting a user condition of the portable communication device such as a talk condition when the user is assumed to be talking on the portable communication product. The processor can be programmed to at least reduce power provided to the display when the sensor detects the talk condition.
