Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention relate to systems, methods, and computer program products for maintaining an updated check register in connection with an online banking account of a payor that tracks pending check payments using check imaging technology. Some embodiments of the present invention provide a computer-implemented method including the following steps: receiving an image of at least a portion of a paper check, wherein the portion comprises an indication of an amount of money to be drawn on a financial account, processing the image to determine the amount, identifying the financial account, and recording the amount in connection with the financial account, wherein the recording step occurs prior to receiving any indication that the check has been presented for payment. In addition, the method may also include making the financial account with an indication of the pending payment available to be viewed by the payor.

Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention include apparatuses and methods that allow a user to wirelessly transmit payment information from a mobile device to a point-of-sale terminal by the user performing only a single action or supplying only a single input to the mobile device. For example, some embodiments of the invention allow a user to assign a default payment vehicle to a particular key or “pay now” icon of the mobile device so that activation of the particular key or icon, alone, causes the mobile device to wirelessly transmit information about the default payment vehicle. In some embodiments of the invention, a user using the single action option of the mobile device does not need to go through an authentication procedure before the mobile device transmits the default payment information. In some embodiments of the invention, if a user uses the single action option, the mobile device is configured to transmit the payment information without needing to first launch an electronic wallet software application installed on the device.

Abstract:
The present invention provides embodiments of a shared account system that allows a primary user to add one or more dependent users to one or more accounts of the primary user in order to control and monitor the transactions made by a dependent user using a shared payment system. The primary user can set preferences, including spending limits, specific time frames within which the dependent user can make a purchase, or restrictions on transactions made at a store or for a product. The shared payment system may be a shared mobile wallet, such as a smartphone or PDA, which allows a user to enter into transactions. The shared mobile wallet allows the dependent user to make a purchase at a store or over a network by transmitting through a connection between the shared payment system and the merchant systems used to make the transaction.

In general terms, embodiments of the present invention relate to methods and apparatuses for initiating pending ATM transactions on a mobile device and for completing those pending ATM transactions at an ATM. For example, in some embodiments, a method is provided that includes: (a) initiating a pending ATM transaction on a mobile device, where the initiating the pending ATM transaction is based at least partially on a user of the mobile device inputting one or more inputs into the mobile device, and where the initiating the pending ATM transaction occurs before the user arrives at an ATM for completing the pending ATM transaction; (b) storing, on the mobile device, transaction information associated with the pending ATM transaction; (c) transferring the transaction information from the mobile device directly to the ATM, where the transferring the transaction information occurs after the user arrives at the ATM for completing the pending ATM transaction; (d) receiving, at the ATM, the transaction information associated with the pending ATM transaction; and (e) completing, at the ATM, the pending ATM transaction based at least partially on the transaction information.

Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention are directed to apparatus, methods, and computer program products for making a payment at a contactless payment terminal using an electronic coupon emulated as an electronic gift card. In one embodiment, a mobile device emulates electronic coupon data associated with an electronic coupon as electronic gift card data, and transmits this emulated coupon data to a contactless payment terminal that has the ability to read and processes electronic gift card data. Therefore, the invention may permit a user to make a payment using an electronic coupon at a contactless payment terminal that is not configured to read the native data format of the electronic coupon.
