Abstract:

This disclosure relates to a method of preparing polyamide particles. The method include spray drying a solution containing a polyamide to form polyamide particles having an average diameter of between about 0.5 μm and about 10 μm and at least about 85% of the polyamide particles having a diameter distribution of no more than about 1.5 μm.

Abstract:

A process for generating single crystalline nano-crystals is described. The nano-crystals are formed on a substrate containing nano-sectors having functional groups which promote nucleation of crystals and inert sectors which do not. The particle size of the crystals is controlled by the size of the nano-sectors and the crystals become reversibly attached to the surface of the nano-sectors during crystallization. In addition, the substrate containing the single crystalline nano-crystals and the single crystalline nano-crystals formed by the process are also claimed.

In some embodiments, a battery comprises an anode, a cathode, a separator disposed between the anode and the cathode, and an electrolyte in fluid communication with the anode, the cathode, and the separator. The anode can be a porous metallic zinc anode. The porous metallic zinc anode comprises pure zinc electrode, a substrate coated with zinc, a zinc substrate with a coating layer, or combinations thereof.

A battery comprises a housing, an electrolyte disposed in the housing, an anode disposed in the housing, a stabilized cathode disposed in the housing and comprising a cathode material. The cathode material comprises a composition selected from birnessite or layered-polymorph of manganese dioxide (δ-MnO), the composition being stabilized by bismuth and copper ions, a conductive carbon, and a binder.
