  • Electrical Relay Device And Method Of Making The Same

    view source
  • US Patent:
    43203698, Mar 16, 1982
  • Filed:
    Jan 21, 1980
  • Appl. No.:
    6/113580
  • Inventors:
Alexander E. Bukala - Chicago IL
  • Assignee:
Littelfuse, Inc. - Des Plaines IL
  • International Classification:
    H01H 5002
  • US Classification:
    335202
  • Abstract:
An electrical device, which preferably forms a plug-in relay unit, includes a terminal board assembly most advantageously formed by a pair of insulating plates made of thermoplastic material and between which are clamped the intermediate laterally extending portions of terminal blade members having outer portions projecting transversely beyond the outermost plate constituting a base plate and transversely innermost portions projecting beyond the innermost plate constituting a clamp plate. One or more of the terminal blade members carry stationary contacts on the inner ends thereof. The insulating plates are held secured together and a bobbin assembly having thermoplastic pins are passed through apertures in the base assembly and ultrasonically vibrated to weld the same to the walls of the apertures. A core and heel piece sub-assembly is initially mounted for progressive movement upon the bobbin assembly and anchored in place in a given position thereon where the core section thereof projects beyond a core-receiving aperture of the bobbin assembly a given predetermined distance. The core and heel piece sub-assembly includes a core section adjustably mounted in a predetermined position upon a heel piece section before it is mounted on the bobbin assembly.
  • Fuseholder For Blade-Type Fuses

    view source
  • US Patent:
    45602271, Dec 24, 1985
  • Filed:
    Feb 4, 1983
  • Appl. No.:
    6/464046
  • Inventors:
Alexander E. Bukala - Chicago IL
  • Assignee:
Littelfuse, Inc. - Des Plaines IL
  • International Classification:
    H01R 13514
  • US Classification:
    339147R
  • Abstract:
A panel-mounted fuseholder unit for accepting fuses is provided with integral snap-in mounting means for securely engaging the panel in regions peripheral to a panel mounting aperture when mounted preferably from the rear of the panel so that the fuseholder can be pre-attached to a wire harness. Complementary preferably latched side-engaging means allow an interlocked side-by-side array of fuseholder units to be fabricated and panel mounted by their individual mounting means. The side engaging means are disposed sufficiently away from the engaged panel so that no special contouring of the aperture is necessary to provide clearance.
  • Double Buzzer Assembly

    view source
  • US Patent:
    41952855, Mar 25, 1980
  • Filed:
    Dec 1, 1978
  • Appl. No.:
    5/965272
  • Inventors:
Alexander E. Bukala - Chicago IL
  • Assignee:
Littelfuse, Inc. - Des Plaines IL
  • International Classification:
    G08B 300
  • US Classification:
    340402
  • Abstract:
A double buzzer assembly comprises a housing assembly including a main housing body having a parts-receiving opening confronted by a cover removably interlocked with said main body portion and first and second buzzer units mounted in said main body portion in spaced relation in a direction parallel to the plane of the opening and adjacent to a rear sound emitting wall on the opposite side of the main housing body from said opening. A heater coil and terminal-carrying sub-assembly is mounted in guideways in the main housing body which guideways open onto the parts-receiving opening, the sub-assembly including a support member carrying a heater coil for one of the buzzer units and contacts in series with one of the buzzer units which contacts open after the heater has been energized for a given period of time, and respective terminals projecting through apertures in the main housing body and making electrical connection separately with the buzzer units to enable the buzzer units to be energized from separate ones of said terminals, and the heater coil to become energized with one of the buzzer units.
