Abstract:A method for electronically damping an oscillator of a resonant transducer in which a first electrical pulse is applied to the resonant transducer, oscillating the oscillator, thereby forming a first waveform having a first amplitude and a phase. A second electrical pulse is then applied to the resonant transducer, forming a second waveform having a phase delay relative to the phase of the first waveform, resulting in substantial damping of the oscillator.
