Abstract:
A cabinet for storing vertically stacked items has a stabilizer. The cabinet has a door and a fixed base, the stabilizer adding to the total support base of the cabinet when extended. If fully extended, the stabilizer prevents tipping if the center of gravity of the cabinet shifts beyond the fixed base. The door automatically engages and extends the stabilizer when the door is initially opened from a closed position. The door continues to engage and extend the stabilizer until the stabilizer is fully extended. Once the stabilizer is fully extended, the door disengages the stabilizer if the door continues to be opened. When closed, the door returns to automatically re-engage and retract the stabilizer. If the stabilizer has been partially retracted during the interval in which the door has been open, the door will still re-engage and retract the stabilizer.

A protective helmet of the type used in football has an external soft elastomer layer to absorb/dissipate some of the energy of an impact. Other features include a quick disconnect face guard, carbon fiber face guard with Kevlar wrap at junction points, a soft foam inner shell inside the intermediate hardened shell, and a head fitting structure including a plurality of pads, visco-elastic cells and at least one inflatable bladder. In addition, the hardened shell may be formed as a lattice frame of strips having a plurality of fibers impregnated with resin. The resin may have a dye added that will indicate if and where an impact exceeding a predetermined value is incurred by the helmet to assist a physician in diagnosing a possible head trauma injury.
A furniture glide is mountable on the foot of a furniture leg. The glide is constructed around a glide base having an inner portion and foot support surface. A plurality of spring fingers positioned on the glide base have attached and distal ends. The distal ends extend in an inward direction toward the inner portion of the glide base. The distal ends also extend in an outward direction away from the foot support surface. The positioning of heads at about the distal end of each spring finger allows the spring fingers to receive an outward expansion force when the foot is moved toward the foot support surface. The spring fingers are positioned to move in an inward direction toward the inner portion of the glide base to lock the foot to the furniture glide when the foot contacts the foot support surface.

Abstract:
An improved dental forceps has a pair of gripping distal tips for placing and removing articles such as metal bands, strips, and soft cotton pellets on and from teeth. A plane of orientation is defined by the longitudinal axes of two elongated legs which are biased apart from each other at one end when the legs are not being squeezed. At the end of each leg is a gripping distal tip, with both distal tips deviating at an angle from the legs' longitudinal axes toward the outside surface of one leg and away from the outside surface of the other leg, while staying approximately within the forceps' plane of orientation. Due to this planar orientation of the distal tips, less twisting of the wrist is necessary while using the forceps, thereby reducing the risk of radio-carpal conditions, especially after long periods of use. The distal tip of each leg has a curved inside surface such that the gripping space is formed between the surfaces when the legs are not being squeezed. Since the direction of forceps gripping is parallel to the forceps' plane of orientation, the major line of the gripping action is approximately contained across this plane. When the practitioner squeezes the forceps, the curled, inside edges of the distal tips exert a gripping action that produces a longitudinal or sliding motion between the distal tips as the practitioner varies the tightness of the squeezing action. The ability to effect this motion tends to increase sensitivity and fine control in gripping.

Abstract:
A handle for a magnetically actuated valve which bears rotating and fixed indicia for reading the valve position. The rotating indicia is placed upon a jacket carrying drive magnets. The fixed indicia is placed upon a cap covering the exposed end of a nonmagnetic bonnet separating the drive and driven magnet assemblies. External stop means prevent rotation of the jacket relative to the cap and bonnet more than about 90. degree. Internal stop means prevent the rotation of valve and driven magnets more than about 90. degree.
A ballcock assembly adaptable for use in a variety of sizes and types of toilet flush tanks. The ballcock assembly comprises a standpipe having a ballcock valve at its upper end and having an adjustable height mechanism for varying the height of the ballcock valve in a toilet flush tank. The ballcock valve is a positive closing valve which includes a valve element movable to an open position against the pressure of the supply water by means of a valve actuating member that is pivotally connected to the standpipe and that is also connected to a float unit which surrounds the standpipe unit. The standpipe includes a hush tube which conveys water to the bottom of the toilet flush tank. The hush tube carries water distribution control means which functions to control the proportion of water delivered to the toilet flush tank and to the bowl refill.
A racquet press made up of two oval shaped members, each member having an inwardly directed peripheral flange engaging the edge of the flange of the other. Each flange has at least four symmetrically arranged flat members attached to its edge remote from the other oval shaped member, a second flange is attached to the adjacent edges of the symmetrically arranged flat members and a web member connects the outer edge of these second flanges. The pin extends through each of the first mentioned flat members and a clamping device is attached to the outer end of the pins so that the pins pull the two symmetrical halves together, clamping the racquet between the flat members.
"Consumers have a fundamental right to know what is in their food and make choices, so I think everyone should be working toward this," said Albert Straus, president of the Straus Family Creamery, a popular organic dairy in Petaluma. "Our labeling costs do not go through to the consumer."
Today we celebrate that almost a million people have spoken up in California, said Albert Straus CQ, who runs an organic dairy in northern California. I believe people have the right to know where their food comes from, and if this initiative succeeds in November, we'll take a big step toward tha
